the five people you meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom

I have been reading books for a long time. That doesn’t mean I’ve read a lot of books, but the books I have read so far have taught me one important thing: no two books are the same, no two stories are the same. But this book came with a new perspective, beautifully summed up in its last line: "That each affects the other and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one."

Mitch Albom is an author celebrated for weaving life lessons with philosophy, and The Five People You Meet in Heaven is no exception. The book is so engaging that it’s difficult to put down, yet there are moments when a single line will leave you in such awe that you’ll want to look up from the book, take a breath, and let it sink in.

We often find ourselves talking about life and death, about what lies beyond death, about afterlives and past lives. Sometimes, we get so caught up in these thoughts that it becomes easier to live thinking, “The next life will be better.” But what if there is no next life? What if we are meant to balance all our acts in this life itself? What if karma settles here and now?

This book makes you reflect on those questions. Don’t wait for your “five people” to show you the meaning of your life—take a moment today to sit with yourself and reflect. Maybe that is what heaven is: becoming a better version of yourself every single day.
