I don't know why I do this to myself and always pick up the books with the most traumatizing violence and emotional roller coaster while ignoring the obvious sign of the same on the cover. It breaks my heart to even think that this is the ugly truth of a country, of people, of politics. Neville Chamberlain rightly said, In war whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners but all are losers. This book tells just one story of one country of one war, how many are still untold much worse should shake up the conscience. Only read it if you have the heart for it otherwise some masterpieces should be left untouched for one's own sanity.
The one quote which will stay with me for a while was something along the lines of how sadness, sorrow, and guilt leave a person suddenly unannounced in the middle of the night whereas the book translates how sadness, sorrow, and guilt arrive the same way, suddenly unannounced in the middle of the street.
